Greater Zaniemysl Area (Poland)
Producing Gas Fields
CalEnergy has a 24.5 percent interest in the Zaniemysl gas field following a farm in to FX Energy’s interest in the Greater Zaniemysl Area - an area of approximately 175 square kilometers that includes and surrounds the Zaniemysl gas field. The Zaniemysl gas field was discovered in 2004 by the Zaniemysl No. 3 well. Initial analysis suggested most likely reserves estimates of 40 Bcf. Other participants in the Greater Zaniemysl Area are the Polish Oil and Gas Company, which holds a 51 percent working interest, and FX Energy, which holds a 24.5 percent working interest. The intention is to exploit the satellite discoveries/structures in the GZA as one common economic unit with the Zaniemysl gas field. The Zaniemysl gas field received its development approval in March 2005, and first gas was exported Oct. 12, 2006. Although early in the evaluation, pressure data indicates that the field is larger than originally thought and most likely reserve estimates are now estimated to be in the region of 50 Bcf.

New Exploration Concessions
CalEnergy has been awarded four exploration concessions covering approximately 2,540 square kilometers, where it currently holds a 100 percent working interest. CalEnergy is reprocessing 2D seismic data and evaluating well data on all four concessions and actively seeking farm in partners:

  • Exploration concession covering part of Block 289. This concession was awarded in May 2007 and is targeting Rotliegendes and Zechstein Main Dolomite reservoirs.
  • Exploration concession covering parts of Blocks 125 and 145. This concession was awarded in August 2008 and is targeting Zechstein Main Dolomite reservoirs.
  • Exploration concession covering parts of Blocks 65, 66, 85 and 86. This concession was awarded in November 2008 and is targeting Carboniferous, Rotliegendes and Zechstein Main Dolomite reservoirs.
  • Exploration concession covering parts of Blocks 126 and 127. This concession was awarded in October 2009 and is targeting Zechstein Main Dolomite reservoirs.
