Steve Larsen, president of
CalEnergy Generation – Domestic,
has responsibilities for all of the U.S. independent power plant operations
and development. Larsen’s offices are located in the Imperial Valley, Calif.,
area. Previously, he was the general manager for plant operations in the Imperial
Valley.
Larsen joined CalEnergy in June 1999 as a plant engineer assigned to
Falcon Power Operating Company at the Saranac facilities. In May 2000,
he was promoted to general manager of Yuma Cogeneration Associates in
Yuma, Arizona. Prior to joining CalEnergy, Larsen spent 10 years in the
United States Navy and has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from
the Naval Postgraduate School.
Joseph L. Sullivan, president of CalEnergy Generation – Philippines, is responsible for
CalEnergy Generation’s 490-megawatt geothermal power facilities
located on the island of Leyte in the Philippines and the 150-megawatt Casecnan multi-purpose irrigation and hydroelectric facility in Northern Luzon.
Sullivan has over 30 years experience in the power generation industry.Sullivan
started his career with Southern Company and later joined Cajun Electric Power Cooperative, Inc.
Sullivan joined Mirant in July 1999 where he held various management positions
with Mirant in the Philippines. Prior to joining CalEnergy Generation in March 2004,
Sullivan was the executive vice president of operations for Mirant
in the Philippines which has a total capacity of 2,200
megawatts.
Sullivan studied business management at Louisiana State University from 1989 to 1992
and is currently participating in an Executive Leadership Development Program of the Asian Institute of Management.
